Home Automation & Control
What is Home Automation?
Home automation can be many different things, depending on the homeowner, but in concept it adds a level of intelligence and control to your home that otherwise didn't exist before. That intelligene is then leveraged to save money, improve security, and better your quality of life inside the home on a daily basis. Home automation systems can perform basis tasks such as using rain sensors that tell an irrigation system to not turn on after it rains, wind sensors that close motorized awnings if the wind is too strong, or garage door sensors that check to make sure the doors are closed when "goodnight" is pressed on a keypad next to your bed.
But the possibilities are endless with the right products and vendor with experience in how to best design and deploy these types of systems. A great example is our customer Jon in Paradise Valley, who's one of a kind movie theater prepares itself with the press of a button. From a single button press "Start Theater" on the wall Jon prepares everything about his home theater for his family or friends to come over and enjoy the latest movie. The thermostat lowers the temperature in the room to create the perfect environment before movie time. The powered recliners adjust themselves to Jay's favorite position, the LED lighting around the room comes on, and even the popcorn machine starts automatically! The viewing screen drops from the ceiling and the projector turns itself on while the system automatically sets all of the volume levels, colors, inputs, and settings on the surround sound receiver and other audio / video gear. When Jon walks in the door to the theater all he needs to do is sit in his favorite chair and a list of movies available via DirecTV, Apple TV, Roku, or his 400+ disc DVD changer are all displayed on the iPad next to his seat.
This is just one example of the hundreds of systems that Smart Home Solutions has installed and programmed. We have designed systems that include temperature and humidity sensors that control fans and misting systems, automated fire bowls, motion sensor controlled lights and artwork, and even water sensors to warn of burst water heaters or clogged condensation drains on air conditioners. We even designed a one of a kind system for a home owner in the Arcadia area to allow the home to recognize who pulled in the garage and then trigger air freshners inside the home tied into the central air. When the gentleman of the home arrived home he was greated at the door by a home that smelled of clean linen. But the woman of the home prefered Lavender - and so when she arrives home the scent of the home changes. Our work has been featured in Electronic House magazine for the very unique, one of kind control systems that we have been installing in the Phoenix area for more than 20 years. We have also been featured in The Arizona Republic for the innovative nature of these types of systems that we carefully plan, creatively design amd install unique to the needs and wants of the individual and their lifestyle
They key is identifying the right kind of home control system that best fits your needs. The most popular systems can allow the homeowner to add sensors and subsystems to grow a simple cost effective system into a more robust home automation controller over time that will add value, increase security and safety, and provide for increased comfort and cost savings.
